What is ARMA?

Australian Racecourse Managers Association

The Australian Racecourse Managers Association was formed at the Australian Racecourse Managers Conference in Tasmania in August, 2004.

Delegates to the conference unanimously supported the proposal as an important milestone in the industry quest for improvements in race and training track construction, management and presentation throughout the nation.

The Association has been incorporated under the Associations Incorporation Act 1981 (Victoria) to provide protection for office-bearers.

The purposes of the ARMA are:

  • to promote and advance best practice in racecourse management
  • to encourage the highest standards of racecourse management efficiency and quality
  • to assist racecourse managers in the provision of race and training tracks of the highest standard
  • to conduct conferences and forums for communication and education on racecourse management
  • to facilitate research and development on all matters relevant to racecourse management
  • to compile data on racecourse management practices and effects
  • to disseminate relevant information to members
  • to represent racecourse managers, as required, on racing industry matters.
