The Steriline Racing / ARMA Scholarship was established in 2008 by Steriline Racing Pty Ltd in conjunction with the Australian Racecourse Managers Association (ARMA).
The scholarship is designed to encourage and reward the pursuit of excellence and professionalism among aspiring Australian racetrack managers. Aspiring Australian racecourse managers who are keen to build their knowledge and career in the industry are encouraged to apply.
The annual scholarship winner visits Hong Kong and China as a guest of the Hong Kong Jockey Club. They will study all aspects of racecourse management during the visit. The trip will be conducted at a time that is mutually convenient to the successful applicant, their employer and the host club.
After the first few years, the trip evolved to become one week with the Hong Kong Jockey Club and one week with the Singapore Turf Club. The Singapore Turf Club involvement ran through 2010 to 2018.
The scholarship is designed to give the successful applicant the opportunity to study all aspects of racecourse management at a global level.
The experience gained from this scholarship will expand the successful applicant’s horizons, both professionally and personally, as they will be exposed to different management styles, operational environments, climatic conditions, cultures and lifestyle.
The scholarship offers the opportunity for aspiring Australian racecourse managers to shape the future of their careers, develop ongoing working relationships and participate in racing culture on the global stage.
Scholarship winners will be perceived as upcoming leaders in the racecourse management profession and will act as role models for their peers.
Applications for the next Steriline Racing & ARMA Scholarship open mid 2024.
